The role will be based in Basingstoke and requires a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for the support and direction of other PM's within the team. The successful candidate will be able to multitask dealing with high level issues in a client facing environment. Please read on for more details.
Role Description
A key member of our transformation team with responsibility for the project management of significant HR and Payroll outsourcing projects in a local authority setting.
These projects have significant scope and value requiring oversight of a number of people, process and technology work streams. We expect our project managers to grasp the big picture, hold key relationships at a senior level both within the company and the Client organisation and in control of project organisation, progress against milestones and risk management.
This role sits within a dynamic organisation where experts in the field are brought together to fulfil the requirements of strategic outsourcing deals sitting within a programme management structure. Candidates must therefore be comfortable operating in a collegiate environment.
Key Accountabilities
Relationship management with key figures within the company and the Client
Responsibility for overall project management of the HR & Payroll project within a programme management framework
Management and ongoing ownership of the standard project management products (e.g. PID, Project Plan, Issues Register, Risk Register, Product Description & Work packages), ensuring that Project Office standards are met
Liaison with managers to forward plan and schedule resource
Effective management of 3rd parties, ensuring that work packages are clearly defined, accepted and managed through to conclusion.
Monitoring/policing of both company and client performance against agreed project plan with agreed stage sign-off points, including the early intervention and management/escalation of deviations.
Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to the quality, cost or timeliness of the project's deliverables and their components.
Identifying areas of deviation from the agreed specification and instigating change control procedures.
Representing the company in a professional manner in all dealings with the client during the lifetime of the project.
Owning and coordinating the communication process across 3rd parties, internal departments and the client.
